Junior Network Engineer

Platform Resourcing are currently working with a Technology company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Junior Networking Technician. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Partners.

The Junior Lab Technician will assist the company in ensuring its high-quality standards are met through dealing with the pre-testing and configuring of equipment before the customer receives goods to ensure they are in full working order. You will be completing warehouse tasks ensuring customer orders are delivered to meet both quality standards and delivery deadlines.

As this is a Junior role, you will be provided with full training and allowed learning time to familiarize yourself with the broad and varied equipment our client deals with. The overall aim of this role is to progress the Junior Networking Technician into a Senior Technician over time, whilst gaining industry accreditations such as CCNA. Graduates will also be considered for this position.

• 24 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, rising to 27 days + 8 bank holidays after 5 years • 8.30am – 5pm, or 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Basic Testing and Configuring equipment

• Completing installs when required

• Software upgrades of equipment

• Testing a wide range of compatible optical transceiver products

• Minor repair of any equipment

• Receiving, unpacking, labelling and inventorying equipment and deliveries • Packing orders for dispatch and arranging courier collections

• Ensuring orders are dispatched on time in accordance with customer requirements • Monitoring stock levels and warehouse material such as packaging material to ensure supplies are replenished

• Ensuring the high-quality standards of products and equipment is maintained • Ensuring goods are in full working order

• Any other ad-hoc duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

• Good IT skills and Excel experience

• An interest in new technology (I.T./ Telecoms) and knowledge of such products • Graduates will be considered

• Excellent organisational skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Be self-motivated and adaptable to the changing needs of the business and its customers • Network accreditation, such as CCNA is desirable but not essential
