Kitchen assistant / Server (Lunchtimes)

A position has arisen in our bar & restaurant for a Kitchen assistant (Inc. food services/pot wash).

Duties involve serving food to customers, collecting empty plates and glasses and the preparation of certain food items. You will also be expected to roll your sleeves up and jump into the pot wash area, which will involve washing up plates, pots and pans. The job may also involve deep cleaning on certain days.

The hours involved in this vacancy are 9 - 12 hours per week.

Additional shifts may be available during busy times.

The times involved are;

• Wednesday 11:00 am to 2:00/2:30 pm
• Thursday 11:00am to 2:00/2:30 pm
• Friday 11:00 am to 2:00 - 3:00 pm

• Bank Holiday Mondays 11:00 am to 2:00 - 3:00 pm (when required)
• Saturday WBA Matchdays 11:00 am to 3:00 pm (when required)

The job involves;

• Food preparation (cutting up salads/vegetables)
• Serving of food to customers
• Cooking of pub grub meals – chips, jacket potatoes etc.
• Pot wash (Washing up – by hand and by using the dishwasher)
• General cleaning of the kitchen and restaurant areas
• Assisting other staff members where necessary (Chefs)
• Stock control
• Helping bar staff when required to deliver drinks to customers

You will be expected to work alongside our other departments as a team to ensure customers have a great experience when visiting The Vine.

Ideally, you will;

• Have good customer services skills
• Be able to work as part of a small team
• Have a good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices
• Be punctual and reliable

Additional shifts may be available such as Bank Holidays and to cover annual leave for other staff members.
