This role will be a full-time permanent position based at our customer site in Macclesfield

Avantor Services provides a broad variety of on-site laboratory services for major pharmaceutical customers and works collaboratively with our clients to provide resources and deliver core scientific activities.

Working hours: Monday-Friday: 7:00-15:00 (with some flexibility 8:00-4:00)

What we’re looking for

• Education: Secondary School or equivalent
• Experience: Previous experience working in a Laboratory environment is desirable
• Keen interest in science and Lab experience is desirable
• Customer service experience is desirable
• Collaboration Tool: Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)

Who you are

• You are a "go-getter" who enjoys manual work, with an interest in science
• You already live in Macclesfield or can easily commute into the city
• You have a driving license and own a vehicle

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Carry out all laboratory support activities in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines and local agreements
• Proactively delivering the operational laboratory support managing workload and service levels as required
• Act as a Point of Contact for customers, actively engaging with them on a regular basis to understand their business requirements
• Take ownership of specific tasks/areas and feedback on any issues with those tasks to the team
• Proactively identify and support operational effectiveness through process improvements
• Data entry and analysis using packages including Excel as required
• Maintain records for equipment servicing and routine preparation to GMP regulations as required
• Participate in lab organisational activities and Avantor team Daily Huddles
• Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and consumables
• Maintenance of point-of-use Kanban stores by daily replenishment
• Provide key metrics in line with relevant goals and targets
• Onboarding and training new members of the team
