The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion.
As a Machinist Manufacturer at Safran Electrical & Power you will utilise the latest technology to machine parts for use in electrical motors and generators to be fitted into commercial and military aircraft. You will use a variety of different equipment including micrometres, height & air gauges, fixtures, pneumatic tools and other manual hand tools. You will realise and resolve problems involving tooling, materials, programs, equipment and parts, recommending solutions in consultation with the engineering team.
The Role
· Use both manual and CNC machines to machine parts for use in electrical motors and generators.
· Ability to use a multitude of hand tools including screw drivers, pliers, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools and other manual hand tools.
· Take precise measurements using a multitude of equipment including micrometres, height gauges and air gauges.
· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to work area and processes.
· Operate machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures.
· Ability to manually handle products weighing up to 25kg, using lift aides where appropriate.
