ATA Search is working for £multi-million manufacturing business that manufactures a range of chemically processed products for various market sectors. Boasting sales of over £75m, they are highly profitable and driven by strategic growth both organic and through acquisition.

Well established and identified as a market leader in their field, this company sets the standard by employee satisfaction, excellent customer service and providing a product that is unrivalled by their competition.

As a result of a restructuring within the business, this company is looking to recruit a strategic and commercially focussed Managing Director to lead all sales, finance, operations, manufacturing, marketing and technical operations whilst working closely with the Board of Directors to strategically grow the business.

Key Accountabilities:

• Full P&L control of £75m business with over 350 staff
• Manage all day-to-day sales, commercial, marketing, financial, operations and technical departments
• Lead and manage weekly meetings with the senior leadership team for business performance reviews
• Deliver and execute business strategies related to growth, cost reduction, sales, commercial, marketing, NPI, operational improvement and people
• Working with the commercial, technical and marketing teams to improve the product offering with strategic NPD/NPI
• Managing and identifying market trends and competitor analysis
• Creating innovative business solutions for customers to support business growth and customer demands
• Delivery of the bottom-line cash flow, cash flow growth and cost-control management
• Manage and lead all Health & Safety initiatives across the business and lead Health & Safety meetings
• Managing and maintaining relationships with customers will be paramount to this role including internal stakeholder and supplier management
• Direct customer management and the Managing Director will typically visit customers once per week
• Directly manage customer queries related to price increases, service agreements, expansions and customer support

Requirements:

• An experienced Managing Director or a Commercial Director looking to take a step up
• Someone that can drive the economics of a P&L
• Demonstrate strong commercial acumen with direct customer management
• The successful Managing Director will have worked in some form of manufacturing, customer-centric, trade or B2B continuous manufacturing environment
• A suitable qualification - BSc/BA in business administration, engineering, science, or relevant field; MSc/MA is preferred
• A hands-on and strategic individual with a history in leadership management, employee engagement and change management
• Collaborative, democratic and someone who can command authority
• A visionary and someone who is driven by detail

You will have full autonomy to manage the business as you see fit with opportunities for your role to expand further once you have established yourself within the business.
