About us
The BSLM is an independent charity, set up to promote the role of lifestyle medicine in improving people’s health and wellbeing. We believe many chronic diseases can be prevented, managed and even reversed by properly applied lifestyle medicine principles.
The society was founded in 2016. We now have over 1500 members drawn from a range of disciplines including primary and secondary care clinicians, allied and public health professionals, scientists, educators, researchers and patients. We’re Haddington-based, offering hybrid (2 days in office per week) and flexible working with a positive team culture, underpinned by service to our stakeholders and a passion for purpose.
The role of the Marketing Officer is the delivery & development of BSLM, and its organisations / charities, marketing, communications, and public affairs strategy. This encompass’ the development, design and maintenance of the charity’s website (from a content perspective), digital marketing campaigns, social media marketing and brand management. This would include the design, drafting and distribution as well as guidance and input into campaigns such as promotions / packages, lead generation projects, print requirements and media/PR content. Key areas of focus would include:
Digital Marketing
Maintain and development social media channels, marketing mailers and websites in line with the marketing strategy. Support the ongoing maintenance, implementation and engagement of our social media channels, to deliver engaging content for our online audience. As well as producing high-quality social media content, you’ll also be able to drive insights and improvements through data reporting and analytics. Working closely with leadership team and colleagues to help develop best practice with social media presence.
Brand Management
Delivering a consistent brand presence
Reporting, Data & Analytics
Utilising Google Analytics for reporting, guiding and directing website and social media content, traffic and statistics. Creating, maintaining and utilising data and analytics to respond to and guide future campaigns and focus.
The Marketing Officer will also play an instrumental role in the involvement and delivery of our annual conference and regional meetings, webinars and attending industry related conferences. This includes events or meetings as relevant to increase the brand awareness, industry credibility and business development. Due to the nature of our membership, some of this will be required on evenings/weekends, although not excessively.
