ATA Recruitment are working with a leading global specialist design and manufacturer of bespoke special purpose machinery for heavy industries, with clients such as Caterpillar, Siemens, GKN, and Samsung.

This family-owned business has over 40 years of experience and have won the prestigious Queen’s award for export and development. Our client has always been on the forefront in pushing technological boundaries integrating robotics and the latest fibre optic technology to their headquarters in Staffordshire.

As a result of growth and increases in demand for their services and product, they are currently looking to add a dynamic Mechanical Design Manager to join their energetic team. This fantastic opportunity will allow the successful Mechanical Design Manager to work with industry experts, hone their skills and grow whilst working on various projects.

The successful candidate will also have fantastic career progression opportunities to move up to senior management as part of the owner’s future plans.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Manager, you will be involved in the design process from cradle to grave, Managing and spearheading new and existing projects

Ad a Mechanical Design Manager you will be responsible for:

• Management of all design activities from concept to production
• Investigating design factors such as function, performance, cost, and operation efficiency
• Preparing 3D/2D drawings, BOM’s, and technical solutions
• Customer technical liaison on projects
• Making sure designs meet customer requirements
• Providing support to the shop floor
• Creating and updating design manuals

The Candidate:

The ideal Mechanical Design Manager will have:

• CAD experience in 2D and 3D
• Mechanical Engineering Qualifications
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
• Fantastic leadership qualities
• Desire and hunger to progress
