The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) Electrical Team Member role is vital to the effective and efficient running of our flood defence assets in and around London. You will be joining a team that maintains, repairs and improves electrical and control system infrastructure. The role is highly varied and alongside electrical work, you will assist with the operation of critical flood defences as and when they are needed. You will work in partnership with government, local councils, businesses, and communities to deal with the impacts of climate change and manage the assets that protect Central London from flooding.
As part of the Thames Barrier and Associated Gates (TBAG) Engineering Team, you will report to the Electrical Team Leader and be part of the Thames Tidal Defences (TTD) MEICA team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Routine and reactive maintenance across a variety of electrical equipment.
- Fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Installation, modification and replacement of electrical equipment.
- Operational role during trials/flood defence operations.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
