Are you an experienced, creative and dynamic Events Manager? Are you accustomed to collaborating with different kinds of people and teams, from academics to technologists, large industry partners to arts and cultural organisations and are looking for your next challenge?
MyWorld is looking for a driven Events Manager who has managed a variety of events from business facing to public lectures, seminars to showcases, to join the MarComms team to develop, manage, deliver and evaluate a programme of events that supports MyWorld’s strategy.
Led by the University of Bristol and funded by UKRI’s Strength in Places Fund, the MyWorld research programme builds on the already globally recognised strength of the West of England region in creative technology research and production. Our aim is to be the engine that drives innovation across creative production, delivery, and audience evaluation, raising the global profile of the region and creating opportunities for business growth.
This role which sits within the MyWorld Operations team, will contribute to these ambitions.
You will be an integral part of the MarComms team and work closely with the MyWorld Marketing and Communications Manager, Digital Content Officer and Operations Manager to drive forward the communications and events strategy. Key elements of your role will be to:

We are looking for a talented and motivated Event Manager, keen to thrive in a complex but fascinating programme of this scale. You will have extensive experience in event management, development and delivery. You will be a strong communicator, both written and orally, and be comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders. You will constantly be looking to ensure events are as impactful as possible and take on board lessons learned, setting up effective evaluation processes. You will thrive under pressure, be an effective problem-solver, and ideally have experience of working in the local tech sector. You will be a self-starter, be able to drive projects forward with limited supervision and juggle the priorities for various events at the same time.
