An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Administrator at the Birmingham Assay Office.

As our customer needs have grown and diversified, so have we. We provide many services from hallmarking jewellery and precious metals, valuations of jewellery, watches or silverware, expert analytical testing, and gemmological services where we identify, grade, and verify diamonds, gemstone, pearls and much more.

We have around 90 employees and we are located in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham which is the industry hub to more than 100 retailers in the jewellery industry.

About the role

A pivotal role working closely with different areas of the business to deliver operational needs in an efficient and compliant manner.

As we continue to focus on our customers, we’re looking for a talented individual to join us. Previous experience in the jewellery industry is not necessary for this role. We are looking for a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, dynamic administrator with excellence organisational skills and a calm methodical approach to work.

· Provide administrative support to operational areas in jewellery valuations, gemmological laboratory, and the analytical laboratory.

· Place customer orders and type reports.

· Liaise with customer regarding their order and providing pricing for testing services/invoicing.

· Support with booking orders in/out, wrapping customer orders and general stock control.

· Managing e-mails.

· Ensuring adherence and maintenance to all ISO accreditation requirements.

· Communication: Communication between the team, business stakeholders and customers

Essential Skills & Experience

· Experience in administration

· Pro-active

· Strong MS Office skills

· Able to work as part of a team

· Attention to detail

· Customer service experience

· Flexible – this role will be reactive at times

Salary: £20,500.00-£21,500.00 per year
