Optical Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Optical Assistant to join our team at our well-established opticians. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting spectacles, ensuring a positive and seamless experience.

Responsibilities:

• Approach customers in a friendly and professional manner, promoting our services and inviting them to visit our store for comprehensive eye tests.
• Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers in selecting frames that suit their style and budget.
• Conduct basic pre-screening tests such as visual acuity, visual fields, and intraocular pressure measurements.
• Process sales transactions, manage customer data, and keep accurate records
• Ensure a clean, organised, and well-stocked sales floor
• Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends to effectively advise customers on lens options, coatings, and frame materials.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing relevant information about our services and products.

Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Basic computer proficiency
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Previous retail or optical experience is a plus

The ideal team member will have previous experience in retail. Experience in the optical industry is preferable however, this is not compulsory and full training will be provided for the successful person.
