Paralegal

Forbes Solicitors are looking for a Paralegal to join our Insolvency and Debt Collect Team at our Walton Summit Office . This is a full time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday- Friday, based at our Walton Summit office.

Whilst the role will be working to the fast-pace, customer focus and high standards of a law firm, the role will also provide a sustainable work-life balance. We act for a range of clients including national companies and public sector organisations.

The role will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:

• working alongside other solicitors, partners, and paralegals within the debt recovery team;
• having direct communication with clients, third-party professionals opponents and/or their legal representatives;
• helping to prepare court documentation including claim forms, requests for judgment and court enforcement;
• legal research and preparing legal updates;
• taking instructions from clients;
• using the Firm’s case management systems;
• taking the lead on files and cases, as well as assisting colleagues.

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applications demonstrating the following the knowledge, experience and skills:

• ideally hold the LPC or CILEx qualification (or equivalent), or hold other further education qualifications (e.g. LLB, A Levels)
• previous legal experience is desirable, ideally in legal debt recovery
• have an interest in long term development / progression in the department and the legal sector
• have the ability to work unsupervised and good self-motivation skills
• have the ability to work as part of a team and be reliable and enthusiastic
• good IT skills, with great attention to detail
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• the ability to touch type would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given
