John Scott Meat is a family run business based in Paisley. Specialising in top quality meat, John Scott Meat continues to go from strength to strength with their foundation of trust between the company, its suppliers, and customers never wavering. John Scott Meat delivers meat to quality butchers, wholesalers, and caterers throughout Scotland and the South East of England. Sandyford Abattoir is also part of the business on site which allows John Scott Meat to have complete control of its product from farm to customer.

We are now looking for a Bookkeeper to

Job summary

Some of the tasks include:

• Produce Management accounts for Directors.
• Income and Expenditure analysis.
• End of month reconciliations
• Overseeing overhead expenditure.
• Negotiating and managing Supplier pricing structures.
• Researching and applying for suitable grants.
• Sales Ledger – Credit control and pursuing outstanding payments.
• Purchase Ledger – Responsible for accurate processing of all supplier invoices and receiving timeous payments. Reconciliation of supplier invoices against goods/services received.
• Responsible for reconciling and managing company Bank accounts.
• Completion of quarterly VAT return.
• Cover absences of other administration staff.

Your profile

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a minimum of 2 years Bookkeeping experience.
• Have a proficient knowledge of Sage Accounting.
• Have good time management and prioritisation skills.
• Be proactive, organised and can work from own initiative.
• Be a team player with an ability to think creatively.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Be able to communicate effectively with staff and customers.
