Part Time Support Worker required Ref no 31220
Our client is an 18 year old boy with dyskinetic cerebral palsy. He has severe hearing impairment and communicates through facial expression, pointing and through a communication device.
He is a wheelchair user and requires hoisting for all transfers.
He requires toileting and some personal care.
Our client requires a rehab assistant/support worker to conduct enjoyable activities with him at home. He likes to play console games and can use switches to play games. He likes to go to the local town and surrounding areas, such as the zoo, and to go out into his large garden grounds.
Therapists visit our client at home and will train the rehab assistant to conduct exercises and activities to improve his strength and functioning skills.
Our client is looking for someone who has similar interests and will be pro-active in creating and engaging the client in activity and be willing to learn new therapy skills.
Applicants must have a full driving licence and be able to drive the clients wheelchair adapted vehicle.
Hours of work
An average of 12 per week working the following hours
School Holidays x 13 weeks
3 x 8 hour days per week
Term time x 39 weeks
1 x 8 hour shift every Friday - 10.00am – 6.00pm
Rates of pay
Weekday £16.00 per hour
Weekend £18.00 per hour
Night Rate (weekday) £17.00 per hour
Night Rate (weekend) £19.00 per hour
Bank Holiday Rate £25.00 per hour
Weekday Sleep-in rate £10.00 per hour
Weekend Sleep-in rate £14.00 per hour
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
