Production Operative

FRESHASIA FOODS LTD is an authentic Asian frozen food manufacturer based in South East London, Erith, DA18 4AA. Our main products are Chinese dumplings and sliced meat. Thanks to our reputable products and their great taste, our company is also proud to have won several awards for our products.

As a food processing worker, you would usually work on a fast-moving production line, which has food passing along on conveyor belts, through different stages such as mixing, picking, packing etc.

Your duties include:

• working in a busy and clean working environment with high standard of hygiene and safety
• checking and controlling the machinery that processes the food
• making sure the production line has a constant supply of raw materials or ingredients (raw beef, pork, lamb)
• adjusting the speed of the conveyor belt if necessary
• checking instruments such as the temperature at regular intervals according to team leader's instructions
• keeping the workplace clean and tidy and fulfil the housekeeping and hygiene after the daily production
• when problem or incident occur with the production process, you shall stop the machine and report to the team leader and factory supervisor or quality controller immediately
• overall protective clothes, boots and staff facilities will be provided in the site
• this vacancy is long term ongoing and could possibly become permanent
• the number of working hours is due to the work performance, more hours for hard-working people
• previous experience in a production environment is desirable, but we will also consider applicants from other walks of life who can demonstrate they have the capability to work in this type of role.

WORKING HOURS

The candidate should be available to work from Monday to Saturday due to working timetable. The working hours vary due to the production target, generally starts from 7.00 am or 8.00 am (depends on the position) and finished in the afternoon (due to the production target), with a 60-minute lunch break with your team members and 10 min rest time in morning and afternoon separately.

INCOME

Salary will start from £9.50 per hour and after three months, you will have a Performance Review. With experience and great performance, this can rise consistently as team leaders and supervisors along your career pathway.
The salary will be paid monthly.

We offer zero-hour contract for hourly paid employees.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You don’t need any particular qualifications to start as a production line worker. GCSEs and A Level result could help your career prospects, if you wish to become a team leader or supervisor. Good English communication skill is required as it is teamwork.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES

To be a production line worker you should have:

• a reasonable level of physical fitness
• the ability to follow instructions and procedures
• the ability to maintain concentration and proactive for repetitive tasks
• accuracy and attention to detail
• good team working skills and the ability to work individually
• a good understanding of health and safety and basic hygiene rules
• a willingness to work flexibly due to the timetable
• report to the team leader and factory supervisor or quality controller if you spot any issues
• ability to speak and understand English

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Once you start to work at Freshasia, you will receive on-the-job training covering issues like health and safety, food hygiene, and technical aspects of the production line process. We have a completed and functional training scheme for every employee. And you could take further qualifications if you progress to become a team leader or supervisor which will support the company.
