Production/ PDI Technician

Our Production/ PDI Technician plays a crucial role in driving us forward in the UK and is vital to our department’s mission to turn the planet orange! You will be responsible for making and delivering the machines which our customers know and love meaning you need to be able to work to and maintain exceptional standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Taking pride in the efficient build of all Först machines in your designated bay in the production line, ensuring your work standards align to the high quality expectations Först measure, through close attention to detail and genuine care for the product
• Work from various schematic and other drawings, using your own knowledge and initiative to perform your role effectively or ask for clarification from the Design team when necessary
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times for both yourself and your colleagues, adhering to health and safety standards, SOPs and relevant company policies.
• Work collaboratively and communicate clearly with other members of the production and the Stores team to ensure you have the tools, parts and equipment needed to complete your role in a timely manner
• Identify opportunities to contribute to the company’s objectives and values where appropriate and able.
• Highlight any areas you see for improvement in processes to increase efficiency and quality within production
• Monitoring, assessing and signing off the quality standards of completed woodchippers using manufacturing checklists. Importance of attention to detail. This is the face of our brand.
• Carry out routine machine pre-delivery maintenance/Inspection, diagnosing and resolving faults in line with our safe and effective standards.

Person specification:

Relevant experience

• Mechanical background with experience in a production environment
• Working with various production tools and equipment, troubleshooting minor issues or knowing when to escalate the issue
• Comfortable working in a busy and fast-paced production environment

Skills

• Able to work autonomously and as a part of a team
• Hands on with high standards and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills across various teams outside your own

• Friendly and professional with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a business and reliably coordinate with relevant teams
• Practical and analytical, highlighting areas of improvement when appropriate
• A positive working attitude with a desire to get hands-on and stuck into production tasks with a ‘can do’ attitude
