About IWPR
The Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) is an international non-profit organisation founded in 1991, with charitable status in the US, UK and the Netherlands. We give voice to people at the frontlines of conflict, crisis and transition to help them drive change and build more stable, just and inclusive societies.
Drawing on three decades of experience in some of the world’s most challenging environments, we support media, civil society, democracy and governance, gender, and youth-focused projects in over 30 countries – promoting reliable information and responsible public debate and removing barriers to freedom of expression.
IWPR is seeking experienced freelance proposal writers to help develop winning proposals to be submitted to a range of international funders. Assignments will vary in duration but will typically last from four to eight weeks. Responsibilities will include working closely with IWPR programme and development staff during the project development phase, writing the proposal narrative, working with finance staff to develop the associated budget and budget narrative, and ensuring that proposal deadlines are met.
Successful applicants will enter into a pool of writers with IWPR, coordinated by the Global Director of Development, from which our in-house Business Development Team can request services.
