About the job
Sometimes things go wrong. At the CCRC we help to put them right.
We are the independent public body that investigates potential miscarriages of justice. It is down to us to tackle complex issues across a broad range of criminal cases. We have dealt with some of the most serious miscarriages of justice of the last 50 years.
This is your opportunity to play a part in this essential, often life-changing work.
At the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), we work in the interests of justice, and we are wholly independent. We do not represent the police, prosecution, court, or government. We do not represent the person applying for a review of their case. Staying independent helps us investigate alleged miscarriages of justice objectively and impartially.
We have unique statutory powers that allow us to obtain any material in the possession or control of a public body, including sensitive material like medical or intelligence records. Not only that, but we are empowered to form a complete picture of a case from start to finish, and we are the only people who can send a case back to court for a second or subsequent appeal.

The CCRC is committed to equality and to being an inclusive organisation.
Inclusive and diverse teams are important to us. We welcome and encourage applications from everyone, including groups underrepresented in our workforce. We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments throughout the selection process and beyond.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Administrator to join the Human Resources team here at the CCRC on an 18-month fixed term basis.
To support the CCRC to deliver, the HR team provides a complete in-house service to all staff. This is a small, but dynamic team, working on a varied and busy portfolio. With a focus on supporting our people, becoming an employer of choice and plans to take forward our recruitment and the development opportunities on offer, this is a great time to join our team in this newly created role.
The post holder will contribute to delivering a high-quality, in-house recruitment service for the CCRC and will have a direct impact on our ability to attract and retain top talent. While recruitment will be the focus for this post, there may be ad hoc duties in other areas of HR to provide resilience on the team and ensure a seamless service.
