Recruitment is the Insolvency Service’s current number one priority. Recently a new centralised recruitment team has formed. We are looking for an enthusiastic recruitment officer to join the team who will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Insolvency Service's recruitment needs.
The team are responsible for identifying, planning and fulfilling the Insolvency Service’s resource requirements to ensure that we have the right people with the right skills and at the right time.
We are working to improve the service experience for candidates and vacancy managers, the time we take to hire new employees, and to increase the diversity of our candidate pool.
As a recruitment officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Insolvency Service's recruitment needs.

About the Apprenticeship
This is your chance to secure a Business Administrator apprenticeship. At the Insolvency Service, you’ll get all the benefits of an apprenticeship - paid work experience, valuable skills and a recognised qualification. But that’s not all, you will also have the chance to help shape our future.
The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal or external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested.
The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills.

About the Role
As a recruitment officer, you will support the Agency on all recruitment matters to meet the requirements of the organisation, which enables an evolving and adaptable workforce.
The successful candidate will be working within our centralised recruitment team, dealing with a variety of duties relating to the end-to-end recruitment process.
The Insolvency Service currently has a hybrid working policy. Employees are expected to attend the office an average of 40% of their working hours.

Qualifications
Apprentices without level 2 (GCSE grade C or equivalent) English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to completion of the apprenticeship. If you have achieved this level and can provide evidence, e.g. copies of your certificates, then you will be exempt from these exams. The training provider will also complete a search at enrolment, however if they are unable to confirm your grades you will be required to sit the exams. If you are unsure as to whether you have the equivalent grades, please contact the recruitment manager for clarification.

Your personal statement should be no more than 500 words and should explain how you consider your personal skills, qualities and experience provide evidence of your suitability for the role, with particular reference to the essential criteria in the person specification.
You may want to consider the following statements when creating your Personal Statement:

Please consider: What qualities you brought to the team to help achieve the goal? What challenges you faced and how you dealt with them and what was the outcome of this?
4. Instances when you had to complete a large volume of work within a tight timescale.
Please consider: How you motivated yourself? How you overcame any setbacks? How you prioritised the work?
(Note: If you do not have a work-based examples then an example from school/college/clubs will suffice).
You are also requested to provide a 250 word statement for the Behaviour, Managing a Quality Service.
After submission of your application you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Verbal Test and Civil Service Numerical Test.
Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended), the closing date for the tests is 23:55 on 2nd June 2023. If you fail to complete the online test before the deadline your application will be withdrawn. Guidance for the test will be available when you are invited to take the test. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.
Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be conducted using the Personal Statement. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
We will test your ability and experience as part of the sift process, if successful you will be invited to a short interview where we will test your behaviours and strengths. Full details of the selection process will be made available to shortlisted candidates once the sift has been completed.
If you have also submitted an application for vacancy 289965 and are invited to attend interviews for both vacancies, you will only be expected to attend one interview slot.

Transforming Workplaces
The Insolvency Service is currently delivering an exciting five-year transformation project that started in April 2022 which will define our future direction supporting a gradual migration to a Regional Centre model combined with smarter ways of working. As part of this, transforming our estate will align us with the government modernisation programmes making The Insolvency Service a great place to work.
We are letting you know about our future plans because if you are joining the Insolvency Service and are recruited into an office over the next five years that is not one of the Regional Centres, you will be expected to move to one of the Regional Centres in the future. This move would not attract financial assistance.
The 11 Regional Centres are : Birmingham, Cardiff, Croydon, Edinburgh, Exeter, Ipswich, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Stratford.
Hybrid Working
Insolvency Service operates a hybrid working policy subject to business need, giving people the flexibility to choose when and where they work and collaborate with others.
Individuals are expected to work from one of the office locations stated in the advert to connect with their colleagues, as required by their role and business team needs. There is flexibility to split the working week, spending a minimum of 40% in the workplace, which includes the office, site visits, court etc.
