Research Associate (Cell Biologist)
School of Biosciences
We seek a cell biologist with experience in stem cell biology (iPSC) and cellular neuroscience to undertake a 12-month technology development project, funded by MeOmics Precision Medicine Ltd. The project will develop
techniques for up-scaling of neurodifferentiation and neuronal cell assays for drug screening. The project will be under the supervision of Prof. Adrian Harwood.
The position is full-time and fixed term, available from 1st May 2023 to 30th April 2024.

Salary: £36,333 - £43,155 per annum (Grade 6). Please note that it is not expected that we will appoint above grade 6.30, currently £36,333 per annum.

1. Postgraduate degree at PhD level in a related subject area or equivalent or relevant industrial experience

2. An established expertise and proven portfolio of research and/or relevant industrial experience within the following research fields:
i. Neuronal cell biology
ii. Electrophysiology
3. Knowledge of current status of research in specialist field
4. Proven ability to publish in national/international journals
5. Knowledge and understanding of competitive research funding to be able to develop applications to funding bodies

6. Proven ability in effective and persuasive communication
7. Ability to supervise the work of others to focus team efforts and motivate individuals
