Ripening Assistant

Location - Teynham, Maidstone

Salary - £26,500 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours - Shift pattern, 5 days in 7, 6 am – 3 pm (40 hrs per week)

The successful candidate will aid in the maintaining of high standards and quality in the final stages of product preparations and care

Our client a leading produce supplier is looking for a Ripening Assistant to work in their team at Teynham. The ideal candidate will have a background in produce manufacturing and quality standards

Responsibilities would include:

• Morning and Afternoon pressure checks
• Process checks for protocols, ice monitor, capacity tracker
• Liaise with customers for daily ripening updates and any special requirements
• Daily checks on Smart Harvest to ensure ripening systems management is adhered to
• Complete and send daily ripening guide
• Daily loading of ripeners against customer forecast
• Maintain accurate ripening records
• Update customers on quality of fruit and any concerns about defects progressing during the ripening process

Specification

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a fresh produce role
• Fruit controls and processes
• Microsoft office including excel to an intermediate level
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Must be driven to high standards and seek best quality results
• Flexible approach would be a distinct advantage for the role
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Results focussed
• Excellent Team working
