THE ROLE

This Senior Accountant role will be responsible for Certinia’s month-end close and audit processes. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of SaaS business models and have a background in GL accounting, cash collections/application, accounts payable and process improvements, as well as have excellent analytical skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE

• Prepare month-end close journal entries (which include but are not limited to payroll, vacation accrual, cash, rent, debt, stock based comp, intangibles, prepaid assets, fixed assets, allocations, consolidation)
• Investigate monthly fluctuations and variances
• Maintain and reconcile certain balance sheet and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
• Assist in government surveys, VAT returns and UK Audit
• Offer feedback on our current processes and suggest process improvements through automation
• Assist in preparation of monthly reporting package
• Assist in implementation of new accounting standards
• Manage/maintain our month-end close software
• Cross functional support on ad hoc projects

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

• Qualified financial accountant (CIMA/ACCA/AAT preferred)
• Five years of work experience (public/private mix is a plus)
• Willingness to learn and jump in to help for different projects
• Team player who works well with others
• Proactive in nature especially leading up to and during month-end close
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and stress management skills.
• Experience with FloQast a plus
