Exciting new permanent role for a Senior Developer who has experience working within JAVA, Restful APIs, ideally financial services background paying up to £60,000 + excellent benefits e.g. EV (electric vehicle) Scheme, pension, subsidies, etc

Home-based/ Hybrid working, office based near Solihull, Dickens Heath, Blythe Valley business parks, and West Midlands/ Warwickshire borders. So commutable along M40/M42, M1, A40, London borders.

About the role

Nationwide Recruitment Service (NRS) client has an exciting new Senior Developer role available for a talented and enthusiastic Developer with a background in JAVA, API integrations, WEB and DIGITAL services and Cloud Native Digital Platform. You should have come from a business with a large JAVA application which is augmented with a variety of, growing, API integrations and WEB and Digital services, as well as a contemporary, market leading, Cloud Native Digital platform.

Responsibilities

• Working within the Development Team you will be providing external stakeholders/ clients essential services within a large JAVA application. You will expand API integrations and WEB and Digital services, as well as the Cloud Native Digital platform.
• You will be responsible for leading a team which develops new features and capabilities within the Application to bring it to life for the benefit the clients.
• Lead a team of 5-6 talente4d developers responsible for the design, development and implementation of solutions based on outline specifications provided by the Product Owner and Application Architects
• Close collaboration with Product Owner and Scrum Master, to plan software releases.
• Responsible for build activities to prepare software for Client releases.
• Ensure close collaboration between Development and QA for BDD design.
• Working within an Agile Scrum team, ensure that appropriate ceremonies are attended, and appropriate contributions made.
• Ensure that the software development lifecycle process is adhered to.
• Ensure that the development team produce program code and specifications to the required standards and quality.
• Support system integration testing including input into test planning.
• mentoring of other members of the team
• The software build and release process
• Active engagement at Agile Scrum ceremonies
• Ensure that code is developed with automated unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to refine requirements.

Experience:

• Demonstrable and extensive software development experience
• Extensive experience within an Agile Scrum environment
• Demonstrable team supervisory and/or management experience
• Strong Jenkins, Maven, JIRA, Artifactory etc experience
• Knowledge of Git (Bitbucket, GITHUB) and SQL
• Experience working in a flexible environment
• Demonstrable experience within a software development environment delivering commercial applications
• Demonstrated desire to learn new technologies, techniques and approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, to achieve goals as agreed by within a self-directed team
• Familiarity with CI or CD
• Familiarity with DORA metrics
• JAVA 11

• MS-SQL Server
• Exposure to financial services systems
