This is a key role in the Transport Labour Market & Skills (TLMS) team within the Department for Transport, developing policy and strategies to ensure the transport sector has the skilled people it needs to deliver for the future.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in conjunction with senior skills and employment experts from across the transport sector and Government as we work to address skills challenges for the whole of the transport sector including;

It would suit candidates who are looking for development towards a Grade 7 role and are experienced in collaborating with stakeholders, developing policy, analysing data and working independently.

About you
To thrive in this role, you will have the ability to compile, assimilate, distil, interpret and present a strong evidence base from a wide range of types of evidence and opinions to form a sound and compelling base to inform coherent policy making.
You will be a proficient user of MS Office applications.
The role requires the post-holders to be able to understand the big picture, work together with internal and external stakeholders, react at pace when required, and to make effective decisions both on stakeholder engagement and policy development.
Additional information
A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
This role may include some travel, this is likely to occur up to once a quarter and may include overnight stays.

1.Three written behavioural examples that provide evidence of you having demonstrated the following. There is a word limit of 250 words for each example.
2. A tailored CV that demonstrates suitability to the role and essential criteria.
Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be conducted using the lead behaviour, Making Effective Decisions. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift or progressed straight to interview.
The sift is due to take place on the 14th & 15th February 2023.
