Dual Senior Residential Children’s Practitioner

37 hours per week including out of hours on calls and some sleep- in as required by the needs of the home.

This is an exciting new role working closely with the Team Manager and Seniors working across two residential homes overseeing two staff teams as well as supporting the young people.

Waterworks and Bridge End are both 2-bedded children’s residential homes located in Norwich. Both homes take planned placements, where on the time of admission the assessed needs can be met by the service with support from other external services such as health, education and social care.

You will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic team who endeavour to make significant changes in young people’s lives. We aim to work closely with the team around the child to promote positive progression and individualise the care related to the individual needs of the young person.

As the Senior Practitioner, you will be expected to contribute to an assessment of the child's needs to promote positive outcomes.

You will be part of the management team and required to take part in the out of hours on call system, as well as sleep in duties at the either home as required.

Ideally you will have a background in residential care or be experienced in working with children with complex needs. You will be required to have a social work qualification; appropriate nursing qualification or relevant experience/training and you will be expected to supervise staff and promote positive practice.

To work within this role, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be reliable, dynamic, have excellent personal relationship and communication skills as well as high professional standards.
