The successful applicant will be employed within the Receipt and Despatch department, part of the busy Supply Chain. Role includes supervising a team of Storekeepers. Ensure equipment entering the department is processed in a timely manner and forwarding to Squadrons/departments to maintain station operational capability. Supervise the movement of all assets leaving the department for external destinations. Ensure all assets are packed in accordance with correct and current guidelines. Ensure all paperwork is made available to enable prompt onward movement of assets. Act as Dangerous Goods trained specialist within the Despatch department. Identify items classified as Dangerous Goods and raise all relevant paperwork needed to ensure onward movement via Road/Air in accordance with current policy and regulations. Physically prepare and package all Dangerous Goods consignments in accordance with current policy and regulations to ensure safe conveyance to destination via Road/Air. Assisting with any other duties that may arise within the Supply Chain.
Navy Command are currently going through a review and there is a possibility that within 6-12 months the role applied for may be subject to change.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
The Skill Zone 3 (SZ3) Senior Storekeeper is part of the R&D department that sits within the Supply Chain, Logistics department of RNAS Culdrose. This post is responsible for the following key areas:
Supervise the Skill Zone 2 (SZ2) Storekeepers working within the R&D department.
The Skill Zone 3 (SZ3) Senior Storekeeper Receipts & Despatch (R&D) is responsible for the ordering, efficient accounting and storekeeping of the R&D department. The SZ3 is also responsible for the continuity of the R&D department, making sure the supervision and cover of staff is maintained in the event of leave and sickness. The SZ3 Senior Storekeeper R&D is required to undertake duties, commensurate with their grade in other areas within the Logistics Supply Chain (SC) Department as directed by Logistics Officer, Merlin Force Logistics Officer (LO MFLO) and Logistics Officer Main Stores Group (LO MSG). They are responsible for ensuring their professional knowledge of store keeping and stores accounting procedures remain current.
