Who we are looking for

A Service Asset and Configuration Management Engineer who will maintain the IT environment and data that is collected and stored within the CMDB and other toolsets.

Working within the Service Asset team you will help to maintain and audit the data that is stored within the CMDB, utilising various asset management toolsets.

You will ensure that all data is accurate and up to date, recorded correctly and that the correct processes are followed for changes to this dataset. Ensuring all Asset Management processes, policies and lifecycles are followed, and the system is configured optimally to deal with the required configuration management needs. Reviewing the systems and processes and polices where required to ensure we are meeting our Company and compliance needs.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Experience and understanding of Asset Management technology and scanning tools, preferably BMC Remedy and BMC ADDM/Discovery, Configuration Management tooling, databases and querying (MS SQL).
Ability to analyse complex datasets from multiple sources and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail (Excel, SQL, etc.) and present this data back, to calculate compliance and configuration positions.
Experience working within a configuration service environment, with varied complex applications and database architectures, with a good understanding of how these hang together, including sub components that may make up a single package.
Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills, with the ability to playback or query IT Management and non-technical stakeholders.
Team player with smart thinking, a can do attitude, ability to work alone with minimal supervision and a self-starter, who is able to take responsibility for deliverables and work stack.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, on multiple projects with independent deadlines and deliverables, and have a very strong attention to detail.
Strong process management, document and control skills.
Good understanding of the lifecycle of assets.
ITIL v3 foundation, preferably qualified with relevance to Configuration Management.

Main Responsibilities

Taking responsibility for the data quality and processes surrounding the CMDB for asset and configuration management.
Verifying and auditing the CMS along with the required cradle to grave processes.
Surrounding asset lifecycle management and any associated configuration data.
Updating and maintaining the CMS, ensuring that data quality and accuracy is maintained to the highest standards.
Ensuring that our regular baseline audits are carried out to ensure that we are meeting our internal, Company and compliance objectives.
Helping to assist the business with the hardware asset or configuration management of the CI’s.
Ensuring configuration, service placement delivery models and principles are recorded and maintained in the CMS and adhered to especially for ITSC mapping, regulatory classifications and licensing models.
Verifying and auditing of the CMS and performing service deep dives in line with service asset and configuration reconciliation.
Working with multiple teams across the business.
Maintaining the teams BAU and KPI work streams, along with asset management requests, identifying problem areas up and down stream that have the ability to impact the team and working to improve and resolve these.
