Shop Assistant

Alfonso Gelateria is a local artisan gelato brand currently selling its products in Woodstock, Witney, Summertown and Blenheim Palace as well as through secondary outlets around Oxfordshire.

As part of the company’s expansion plan, we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Shop Assistants for both Part-Time (20hr/week) and Full-Time (40hr/week) to join our team in our Stow-on-the-Wold location.

As Shop Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring the shop runs smoothly, and that procedures and standards are followed and met. You will have a hands-on role alongside colleagues to serve our gelato and other products whilst maintaining the high level of friendliness and customer service that we pride ourselves on giving.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that other members of staff maintain the same high standards and communicate our brand values to customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

• To be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the gelateria and to ensure great quality, consistent food and beverage services are being delivered
• Know and communicate information about Alfonso food & drink products to the customer in a friendly manner (including allergy and ingredient information)
• Serving customers our artisan gelato and preparing hot drinks and coffees to our standard
• Ensure stock management and ordering is being done correctly using our internal processes
• Ensure that a clean and tidy work environment is maintained at all times

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience working as barista or in similar food & drink environments
• Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous management experience desirable
• Experience delivering excellent customer service
• Friendly and approachable, with the management skills to develop and manage a team.
• Interest in being part of a high-quality food brand as well as a love for coffee & ice cream also desirable

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: £10.00-£12.00 per hour
