1710 Naval Air Squadron delivers a range of specialist aircraft support capabilities on behalf of Fleet Commander and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff to recover, enhance and sustain tri-service aircraft. The unit achieves this through deployable aircraft structural repair teams, the design and development of modifications to deliver emergent safety and operational requirements and the provision of essential reactive airworthiness advice across all elements of materials integrity. Job description

It is vital our Armed Forces receive reactive logistical support to enable them to maximise their capabilities. As part of the Logistics team you will be a focal point for all store’s enquiries within the Squadron. Providing access to equipment and working towards solutions in provisioning of stores, enabling our armed forces to achieve output at readiness.
You will be required to issue and receipt all commodities to and from Squadron stores. Prepare and package the items, maintaining supporting documentation and records via the supply computer system, MJDI and track packages due in and out from the Squadron using the VITAL tracking system. Your assistance will be required often at short notice to support high profile Repair team deployments.

Person specification

The post holder will hold a Government Procurement Card to process Local Purchase Orders which will involve liaising with industry and MoD Delivery Teams to meet customer demands.
Working in an enabling section, your role will be to provide support to all other Departments and Sections within 1710 NAS. To do this there will be a requirement to conduct Dangerous Goods Consignments for Squadron Repair Teams. Some experience of DG would be advantageous.
