Sub Agent

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Sub-Agent to join our team based in Kingsbury, Warwickshire.

What you'll be doing

The Sub-Agent is responsible for the safe, timely and within budget works of the delivery of the asset. This also includes the management and site supervision of related matters on the asset. Duties include:

• Prepare the scope of works of the works packages
• Manage these subcontracted work packages and monitor the sub-contractor performance
• Manage the internal and external interfaces in relation with the implementation of the works
• Make sure that the site team members under his supervision have a common objective of global achievement.
• Advise and assist the commercial team in the preparation of all necessary contractual notices and instructions (under NEC contract)
• Produce, review and manage the correct implementation of Method Statements Risk Assessments, and undertake periodic reviews
• Prepare and raise Temporary Works Briefs
• Carry out Visitors Induction and able to undertake incident investigations / accident review
• Maintain accurate diary, including dialogue with subcontractors
• Ensure the delivery, control, and validation of Permanent and Temporary Works Design (with the support of the technical team)
• Ensure the compliance with technical and contractual requirements, especially with regards to Health & Safety and Environment
• Monitor as-built programme, report reasons for difference, and identify any improvement to mitigate delay and maximize opportunity
• Review Subcontractor’s Inspection and Test Plans and obtain approval.
• Ensure Subcontractors / Site supervisors complete the required quality control and maintain a comprehensive filing system of quality records aligned to the Project Quality requirements
• Identify, raise, and action Non-Conformance Reports / Technical Queries (TQs) with possible solutions. Track closed-out of NCRs / TQs within section

The following qualities/experience are essential:

• Engineering Degree holder, or similar equivalent, with multi-disciplinary breadth
• Proven experience in managing subcontractors and working with a major contractor
• Excellent team player and team leader, reporting progress to the Project Manager / Construction Manager
• Highly organised with good management and coordination skills
• Strong on technical details and with good communication skills
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations and current legislation and standards associated with all engineering aspects
• BBV behaviours, respecting equality and diversity
• SMSTS qualified
