Over the summer period, the Facilities department will be welcoming a high number of conference guests to the University. These bookings will vary from International Summer School’s visiting Worcester to groups booking Conference Events using the University’s facilities. This increase in demand creates several opportunities for people who are looking to gain work experience, becoming part of an additional summer team which plays a key role in supporting the smooth running of the university and contributing to several areas of operational support. A fixed term contract is offered between June 2023 and September 2023.
Areas of office support that students may be required to work within are listed below (ref: Main Duties below). This role will require the post holders to be highly motivated and flexible when meeting the business needs across 7 days a week. This type of paid work is an ideal way for people to enhance their CV. Training and support is provided where appropriate. Evening and weekend work will be required, and some activities may require an appropriate level of physical fitness.
Background
The Facilities Department covers a wide range of services within University of Worcester, including Accommodation, Conferencing, Reception, Estates, Commercial bookings and Catering, Security Operations, which includes Cleaning, Campus Service, Grounds & Security.
The University has various sites around Worcester which include St Johns, Battenhall, Stephenson Terrace, Grove Farm, City Centre, Lakeside, University Arena & Riverside and the Three Counties Medical School. Applicants may be required to work on any of these sites.
From 1st August 2023 the rate of pay for this role will be £11.26 per hour.
