At our Carrswood Day Service in Bath, we have the perfect opportunity to join a team who makes a difference to our community and its service users. Our team offers a vibrant and busy day service for Adults with Learning Disabilities to access groups and activities which are therapeutically underpinned to meet their individual needs.
The service supports up to 70 service users over the week, working within a team of 40 staff comprised of support workers and care assistants. The hours of the service are Monday to Friday between 9-5 where you will also have the chance to work alongside the wider Learning Disabilities team including social workers, speech and language therapists and other complex needs staff.
This is a great opportunity to be a part of a team who provides services that make a difference to their service users, including providing therapy-based groups and helping service users meet their personal goals.
Main ResponsibilitiesYour main responsibilities as a Support Worker will include:
The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about delivering excellent care and support to service users with learning disabilities and a drive to support our individuals with all aspects of care needs. It is not essential to have experience in care or working with those with learning disabilities, but this would be desirable.
Part of this role includes participating in group activities such as hydro pool or trampoline activities for service users. Therefore, some of your responsibilities can be a somewhat physically demanding however training is provided for manual handling and lifting where necessary.
