Test Engineer
Glasgow
As a Barclays Test Engineer, you’ll be required to work across the full cycle of functional testing including creating key artefacts. You will define, and document test cases based on requirements, upgrade existing test cases to system changes, define and execute regression test cases. You’ll be able to recognize defects and issues and report proactively. You’ll develop and build re-usable tests in JIRA and possess DB concepts in creating complex SQL queries and with experience in ETL testing.

What will you be doing?
• Working with the Business Analysts to understand the end to end requirement and design an appropriate testing solution

- Contributing on a daily basis to a collaborative environment, provide support where appropriate to other members of the team
- You will be responsible for actively seek out areas for improvement and deliver these through agreed roadmaps
- Liaising with Business and other Technology teams across Barclays to enable all aspects of end to end testing to be defined and executed
- Developing and maintain test approach documentation
- Analyzing change requirements that support technical testing activity
- Defining, formulating and documenting automated test scenarios that support the end to end testing of technical/ functional changes made to the system
- Generating test scripts/ scenarios based on scenario definitions
What we’re looking for:
• Must have excellent knowledge on ETL concepts and tools
• Must have excellent knowledge on ETL concepts and tools
- Should be well equipped with Jira Test and Defect Management application
- Must possess excellent DB concepts in creating complex SQL queries and should have thoroughly worked on ETL testing
- Create test scripts (manual and automation) & test data based on test scope defined
Skills that will help you in the role:
• ISTQB Foundation Level (or above) certification
- Experience in any BI tools testing like QlikSense, PowerBI, Tableau Reporting etc.
- Knowledge of JIRA X-ray, Confluence and CI/CD tools
- Awareness/Understanding of GIT, STASH, Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven
Where will you be working?
Tay House is nestled in a fantastic central city location. Our modern Glasgow Contact Centre is directly next to the M8 and a short walk from Central Station and Charing Cross train station. Tay House offers a communal coffee pod, but if you fancy nipping out we are right next to two of the main shopping streets in the city centre.
