Trainee Machine Operator

Company description

Based in Thetford, Norfolk, we specialised in plastics coating and laminating, providing this service to the medical, signage, and food industry. In addition to our own extensive product range; we actively engage in custom manufacture. The purpose is to learn how to run machinery and assist in the production of high-quality products in a safe environment to maximise efficiency and profits. Previous Machine Operator experience is not required as training will be provided.

What you will do:

You will work rotational shifts: 0600-1400, 1400 - 2200, 2200 - 0600 (Mon-Fri)

You will be paid Per Hour - £10.42 plus £1.50 (Shift Pay)

You will partake in a training programme on production lines and machinery such as loading raw materials for product manufacture, mixing glues and dyes, testing finished products, transporting materials and equipment and cleaning production equipment.

In addition, you will be:

• Assisting with the efficient operations and maintaining machinery and working on Coater/Laminators, Slitters and Conversion Machinery.
• Reporting any problems with equipment directly to the shift leader.
• Assisting with identifying non-conformances in production performance as well as Quality, Health and Safety, Food Safety and Environment issues
• Ensuring company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs and reduction in waste.
• Responsible for your own and others safety, using Personal Protective Equipment, as required.
