Trainee Quantity Surveyor / Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician

Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit a Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician to work on our Hinkley Point C contract in Bridgwater.

As a Quantity Surveying Technician, you will be part of our Project Commercial team who are responsible for providing commercial support for the Project, working closely with the Client and Operational teams.

The Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station is an exciting project in Somerset which will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

As the Quantity Surveying Technician your duties & responsibilities will be:

• Assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) undertake Cost and Value management
• Assist in preparation, maintenance and agreement of Project accounts
• Assisting in the compilation of commercial and financial reporting information
• Assisting in ensuring compliance with Milestone Infrastructure standards and procedures in respect of commercial activities
• Assisting in Subcontract procurement and management
• Assist with project documentation
• Assisting in recording and administering change i.e. Compensation Events and Time
• Assist in providing support and assistance to the operational team
• Ad hoc duties as the role requires

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

• Have enrolled on or be in process of enrolling on a Level 4 course in Quantity Surveying
• Have a relevant CSCS card or be in process of obtaining one.
• Demonstrate an interest or have some experience within the Construction Industry
• Have good Maths and English grades at GCSE level.
• Have a good command and communication of oral and written English
• Demonstrate good organisational skills
