AMC manages its non-ferrous scrap metal trading operations via Sansing Limited (”Sansing”). Headquartered in Hong Kong, Sansing is focused on global trading and supply of metal scrap and recycled non-ferrous metals with Sansing (UK) Ltd providing contractual support.

Job Description

Sansing (UK) Limited are looking to expand their commercial team to strengthen the company's position in Europe as a leading non-ferrous scrap and recycled metals trading company. We are looking for a candidate with Italian and French or Spanish language skills to work from our London office. The job initially will be to provide logistical support whilst undergoing training to become a trader. This role is aimed at somebody who is looking to make a long-term career with Sansing and become an integral part of the company.

The selected candidate will initially work with our Hong Kong logistics department and handle various shipments between our suppliers and customers around the world to become familiar with the day-to-day business operations. After this initial training period (up to one year), and under the guidance of our traders in London, the candidate will be encouraged to engage in developing relationships with new clients in the European region. This would include making overseas trips to visit customers and suppliers at their physical locations, as well as attending industry conferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaising with the Hong Kong logistics team for shipping and documentation matters.
• Organising logistics, both deep sea and inland between suppliers and customers.
• Resolving logistical related issues with counterparties.
• Processing of invoices.
• Managing price risk; hedging with LME and COMEX futures.
• Establishing commercial relationships with suppliers and customers across the European continent.
• Develop relationships with existing and new customers in Europe and the management of sales.

Qualifications

• A background in logistics is desirable but not essential.
• Good numeracy skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Must be willing to be on call before and after office hours as our clients work over several time zones.
• Willing to travel abroad regularly to visit suppliers and customers.
• Able to work under pressure and independently.
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
• A desire to work with commodity futures markets and an interest in trading as well as economics.
• Looking to build a long-term career in the metals industry and a determination to work hard and help grow the company’s business over the long term.

Language Requirements

• English: Fluent
• Italian, French and/or Spanish: Desirable

Office Hours

Mon – Fri 8:45 am - 17:00 pm

The candidate must have right to work in the UK.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
