What you will be doing:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and technically minded Tester to work within the Service & Solutions Business at Sony UK Technology Centre.

Joining a team of like-minded individuals, you will be responsible for the TV Softwaretesting and investigating software market problems. Your focus will be Android applications, A/V streaming and broadcast functions, providing support to Field Quality Engineers for all aspects of TV software relation. This is a new opportunity within Sony UK Technology Centre, therefore full training will be provided.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Evaluate software package by conducting functional tests in line with operational standards on new model’s and network services
• Understand and follow both manual and automated test operating standards.
• Update to latest and relevant software packages using various methods
• Investigation and reporting faults accurately and in a timely manner.
• Updating our knowledgebase of problems and solutions through our internal systems.
• Application of dynamic test techniques to discover defects.
• Ensure the operating standards you follow are in line with our quality standards.

Essential criteria

• Excellent Communication, both written and verbal
• Computer literacy skills with the ability to adapt to new systems.
• A strong team player to work in a cross-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrate a methodical approach to work and be able to work with minor supervision.
• Adaptable to different work priorities, using your own initiative when needed.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and technical skills.
• Available to travel

Desirable criteria

• A keen interest of test workflows and methodologies
• Knowledge of Consumer Electronics, DVB, Digital/Satellite/Cable technology/ Android application
• Manufacturing/engineering background.
