We’re currently hiring for a full-time General Assistant for our Cigarette/Tobacco room at our Stockport Depot. The position is a key support in the depot, processing customer’s orders through the till, ensuring compliance with industry rules and guidelines. You will take ownership to ensure that the processing of a customer’s order is effective and efficient as well as serving customers in a timely and professional manner, whilst providing great customer service in everything you do.

What will you be doing as a General Assistant?

• Working within the cigarette/tobacco room
• Process customer transactions
• Help customers with orders
• Advise on alternatives
• Keeping cigarette/tobacco room tidy
• General housekeeping
• Answering customer queries
• Supporting other departments as required

What do you need to be a General Assistant?

• Great with customers and aware of their needs
• Polite and friendly
• Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
• Highly accurate and have excellent attention to detail in your work
• Comfortable using both fixed and handheld computerised tills and barcode scanners
• Able to work quickly and to deadlines

What’s on offer?

Rate of pay: £7.15 - £10.42 + opportunities for overtime

38 hours per week:

• o Sunday: 08:00 - 16:00
• o Monday: 07:30 - 15:30
• o Tuesday: Off
• o Wednesday: 11:15 - 19:15
• o Thursday: 07:30 - 15:30
• o Friday: 11:15 - 19:15
• o Saturday: Off
