Yard Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join our team on our Dorket Head Site near Nottingham.

The successful applicant will be a member of a multi-functional production/TPM team aiming to achieve key targets within the departmental environment, thereby helping to deliver Cost, Quality and Efficiency benefits to the Factory. The candidates will also be a hard-working individual who are prepared to work within a team. The job does not require any experience in the industry as full training will be given. The working days are Monday to Friday

Specific responsibilities include:

• Loading brick packs on to lorries using a 2 pronged counterbalanced forklift truck
• Hand sorting of packs of bricks
• Operation of plant and machinery
• Working to SSOP’s with safe and precise working practices at all times
• General maintenance of equipment
• Packing
• The ability to learn quickly
• Being part of the local TPM team
• Housekeeping in your area of responsibility
• High degree of Health and Safety and environmental awareness
• Help with month end stock taking

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Counterbalanced forklift licence
• Reading and writing ability and able to understand production machinery
• Basic numeric skills
• Flexible and self-motivated working attitude
• Good vision
• Ability to work as part of a team or on your own.
• Good timekeeping and attendance records.
• Team working attitude and good communication skills
