Yard Shunter (Class 1, Daytime)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Yard Shunter with a Class 1, Category C+E licence to join our haulage team at our Tewkesbury Depot. You will be undertaking shunting work during the day around the yard ensuring that the trailers are in the right place at the right time and that goods within the vehicles are properly secured and prepared for safe transportation

The Yard Shunter Role

As a representative of Cotteswold Dairy, quality and customer service will be at the heart of this position. The successful applicant will deliver milk to our residential customers and enjoy building solid customer relations. You must demonstrate a positive, flexible attitude to work, be reliable, confident, and able to communicate effectively while being a team player. You will possess excellent problem-solving skills, deliver excellent customer service and be committed to conducting your work to the highest standards, recognising this role is pivotal to ensuring a first class service to our customers

Key duties of the Yard Shunter role will include:

• Ensuring the safe operation of yard-shunter vehicles
• Monitoring and reporting of damage to Company vehicles
• Checking fridges are running and electric cables are in good condition
• Ensuring vehicle wash and re-fuelling areas are kept clean, reporting any infringements

Yard Shunter Working Hours †

Full time, 48 hours per week (rostered average). Day-time hours including early starts as required.

In order to comply with the Working Time Directive, this will be averaged out over a period of 26 weeks
