We are looking for a super friendly and customer service-oriented individuals to join our team as an Ice Cream Shop Server. We also sell homemade mega bakes, milkshakes and other yummy things. We are more than JUST an ice cream shop. In fact we make ALL our gelato/ice cream on site and make all our bakes. We have 2 incredible sites with one being on the world famous Shambles street. Our ice cream shop is a fun and dynamic work environment that requires people who are reliable, outgoing, and able to work in a fast-paced setting. People come into are shop for all over the world to find Yorks best Ice cream. With epic flavours and big portions, along with a friendly welcome to all. When the suns out we can have queues from open to close and time will fly having fun scooping with like minded other team members.

We have several positions needing filling from Part time server to Team leader to Deputy Manager gearing us for a crazy but fun summer.

We believe in everyone working to the same standard and goals with no drama just a lovely work environment. And at the end of the day you can take a free gelato home with 50% off if you are not at work.

We scoop using authentic Italian methods so our scooping can be or seem difficult at first but you will be guided and given training to help you succeed. One you get it ... it's a breeze!

You will need to be familiar with our menu and be an excellent communicator who can confidently describe and recommend flavours to customers during very busy periods, giving all customers a great experience.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers. We have been voted 3 years running by Tripadvisor as outstanding for CS
• Greet customers and take orders in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Prepare and serve ice cream, toppings, and beverages
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Operate the till & payment system
• Ensure all customers are satisfied with their orders and leave happy
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Work at dual sites if you can master the art of both :)
• Team Lead
• Make certain menu items

MUSTS

- Be available all of summer

- Be available weekends ( Saturday - Sunday & Bank holidays ) unless booked off in advance as we are flexible with time off.

- No time off Longer than 2 weeks until October 2023 ( Ice cream season )

- Be available at least 1 day per week day.

Part time is approx. 16 Hours

Full time is a minimum of 40 once fully trained and scooper professional!

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Previous customer service experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a VERY & sometimes manic fast-paced environment with never-ending queues!
• Ability to work in a team and independently. We love team work :)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays
