About us

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill provides critical/psychiatric acute care for males with complex mental illnesses.

The hospital is split across two units:

Wendy Orr – male psychiatric Intensive care
Edith Cavell – acute male-only service

Healthcare Assistants

Burgess Hill is recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to join our dynamic and forward thinking team of professionals that include Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers and OTs. As a Healthcare Assistant you will work across the hospital under the supervision of a qualified nurse, supporting our patients in their recovery.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience in a healthcare role (preferably mental health)
• Ability to keep calm in challenging situations
• An understanding of mental health conditions
• Resilience
• Encouraging and supportive approach
• A caring nature with strong listening skills
• Thrives within a team led environment

Skills and Knowledge

• Good communication skills
• Ability to work flexibly
• Basic literacy skills

Qualifications

• Education to GCSE Standard
• NVQ or equivalent would be an advantage
