Relief Porter
Facilities Services - The Balfour
Band 3 £26,972 - £28,990 including Distant Islands Allowance pro rata per annum.
Relief Contract – on an as and when required basis
We are seeking flexible and supportive colleagues to join our Portering Services team at The Balfour on a relief basis
Portering Services cover the needs of The Balfour and all departments that make up NHS Orkney. The main duties and responsibilities are; to work as a hospital porter in various settings including the stores, wards, clinical departments and various buildings out with The Balfour. To ensure all Portering services are delivered punctually and to suit the needs of the hospital, including supplies, pickups, and deliveries as the service demands. The porter service is expected to react to the various increases and decreases in workload and a certain amount of flexibility is required.
You will be expected to have good negotiating skills and a calming influence on difficult situations, need to be flexible and prepared to make changes to daily routine at very short notice, excellent communication skills and to undertake various training for the role.
