Trainee Production Operative

We are seeking to recruit a small number of Trainee Production Operatives, to support ongoing business growth and investment at the Saica Warrenpoint plant. Saica Pack develop corrugated packaging solutions with production facilities in Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Turkey Ireland and U.K. Located within our plant in Warrenpoint which is a high volume and demanding environment you will be required to work shifts on a weekly rotation basis. As part of a flexible team, you will need to demonstrate excellent team working skills, problem solving and innovation ensuring the smooth running of the manufacturing process and at all times work in a safety first manner. Key Duties and Responsibilities.

• To work as part of a team producing high quality packaging in line with customer order specifications.
• To comply and operate within the Health and Safety at Work regulations by maintaining own personal safety and that of other team members
• To contribute to the overall profitability of the site by minimising waste and machine downtime.
• To maintain a high level of housekeeping within the plant to increase productivity and minimise accidents.
• To participate in on going continuous improvement projects.
• This role involves repetitive heavy lifting and moving, therefore a degree of physical fitness is required

Quality checking products Working within a very fast paced environment, so you must have the ability to adapt quickly

• Full training and safety PPE will be provided Previous Experience.

Previous experience of working within a fast-paced production environment, ideally in packaging, would be advantageous.

Ability to work a flexible shift pattern is essential – Dayshift/Backshift/Nightshift

• A current fork lift licence is preferred but is not essential

Knowledgeable in basic computer skills.

• Able to work to exact standards with good attention to detail.

Knowledgeable in methodologies to optimise efficiency.

• Be fully flexible in their approach to the varied work requirements driven by customer demand
• Good standard of secondary education.

Preference may be given to applicants who have previous experience of corrugated case machinery, and/or high speed industrial environment, and/or experience of Continuous Improvement in team working. Full training will be given to the successful applicants on commencement of employment. Benefits include a very competitive rate of pay and company pension scheme.
